The Torah is not only history or nice lessons, but also laws and instructions for life. :) G-d tells us in every area of life, the kind of ethics and values we should have and the laws to keep, in order to have a meaningful life, connect to G-d, and spread light through the world. Plus, G-d tells us in the Torah that peace will come if we return to Him and follow His ways.
Just take one step at a time and we can each reach our goals. We might slip up, but we can still stand up and go back on track
